Audio and Acoustic Signal Processing

Sounds carry a large amount of information about our everyday environment and physical events that take place in it. We can perceive the sound scene we are within (busy street, office, etc.), and recognize individual sound sources (car passing by, footsteps, etc.).

DCASE 2017 Workshop is the 2nd workshop on Detection and Classification of Acoustic Scenes and Events. It is dedicated to recent advances on computational analysis of everyday environmental audio scenes and on closely related topics. The technical program will include invited speakers, oral and poster presentations of peer-reviewed submissions, and a special session about the DCASE 2017 Challenge.

The annual conference of the International Society for Music Information Retrieval (ISMIR) is the world’s leading interdisciplinary forum on accessing, analyzing, and organizing digital music of all sorts. The ISMIR conference embraces the complexity and diversity of music by showcasing ideas and applications that enhance the way in which we interact with music. Centered around MIR, the conference aims to foster dialogue across disciplines by bringing together researchers, developers, educators, librarians, students and professionals, providing multifaceted interaction and cross-fertilization that will benefit a wide range of related fields. MMSP 2017 is the IEEE 19th International Workshop on Multimedia Signal Processing. The workshop is organized by the Multimedia Signal Processing Technical Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society. The workshop will bring together researchers and developers working on multimedia signal processing to share their experience, exchange views, explore future research directions and network. This year’s event has a theme of ‘Multimedia Processing for Healthcare and Assisted Living’. However, other multimedia signal processing problems will be also solicited.

This edition of the workshop is organized by the University of Bedfordshire and will take place from October 16 to October 18. The workshop will be hosted in the Chequers style mansion house, Putteridge Bury

The 2017 IEEE Workshop on Applications of Signal Processing to Audio and Acoustics will take place October 15–18, 2017 at the Mohonk Mountain House, New Paltz, New York, USA.
