News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
For our March 2012 edition, we focus on signal processing methods for social networking. In recent years, social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and businesses connected to these networks have penetrated into many aspects of our daily lives, some of which could not have been foreseen even just a few years ago. Below, we cover some of the recent inventions in the area of social networking which have drawn on abstract notions from signal processing, networking and digital communications.
In related news, The IEEE Signal Processing Magazine has a recent issue with several articles covering security and privacy issues in social networking. If you have an interesting patent to share when we next feature patents on signal processing methods for social networking, or if you are especially interested in a signal processing research field that you would want to be highlighted in this section, please send email to Shantanu Rane (rane AT merl DOT com).
