Events of the IEEE SPS Gujarat Chapter: International Webinar on "Women Leading Technology"

Events of the IEEE SPS Gujarat Chapter - December 2021

Annually, the IEEE Signal Processing Society supports numerous Member Driven Initiatives from our Chapters.  Below are highlights from the IEEE SPS Gujarat Chapter international webinar on "Women Leading Technology".

The 2-Days International Webinar on "Women Leading Technology", WoLT-2021 was jointly organized by IEEE SPS Chapter and IEEE Sensors Council of Gujarat Section during 13-14 December 2021. Over 850 people from 9 countries and 24 states of India registered for it. Ms. Nita Patel, Director of the IEEE Foundation and 2022 President-Elect of the IEEE Computer Society was invited for inaugural talk in the webinar. She spoke about Volunteer Leadership. A wonderful panel discussion on 'Women of Wonder' was conducted on Day-1 in which four women entrepreneurs were invited from different walks of life (Computer Science, Sensors, Pharmaceuticals, and Handicrafts) and age groups (early 30s, late 30s, late 40s and early 50s) and they have shared views about their accomplishments, passion, struggle for victory, focus on goal, perseverance, lessons of life, social responsibility - anything and everything.

One day Seasonal school on 'Sensors and Signals' was conducted on the Day-2 with four technical talks of state-of-the-art development in the area of sensors and signals. Besides these, some other talks and networking moments are also arranged.

The most attractive part of the event was the quiz. Total of 5 quizzes were conducted (1 on Day1 and 4 on Day2) after completion of every session in time, with attractive prizes. The participants were also enlighten with the knowledge on “How to write Technical Paper” on Day 1. For detailed activities, view the full report.
