Wireless Systems Engineer, Google Inc., Mountain View, CA

The role: Wireless Systems Engineer: As a Wireless Systems Engineer at Google, you be evaluating and testing novel wireless systems, working closely with the system design team and the business development team to ensure the delivered system is solid and good design tradeoffs have been made.

You will study the proposed systems, understand the tradeoffs involved in the design, and contrast against other modern standard. With this understanding, you will design lab and field experiments to evaluate the system performance, provide feedback to the design team, and iterate on the tradeoffs. Finally, you will work with the business development to derive deployment scenarios.

  • Evaluate and compare the performance of wireless systems.
  • Design test scenarios and procedures to validate system performance.
  • Manage and coordinate field testing exercises.
  • Analyze system performance, localize effects, and provide feedback to system designers.
  • Collaborate with business development team to define deployment scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters in an engineering field. In lieu of degree, 8 years relevant work experience
  • 5 years of experience deploying, testing, and evaluating wireless communications systems.
  • In signal processing, controls, or mathematical background with a strong understanding of signal processing
  • Ability to program and strong familiarity with Matlab or similar signal data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
