The SPS Awards Board is now accepting nominations for 2012 major SPS awards. Prospective nominators are encouraged to submit nominations well in advance of the deadline of 1 October 2012.

The Bio Imaging and Signal Processing Technical Committee (BISP TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (IEEE-SPS) promotes activities within the broad technical areas of biomedical and biological signal and image processing.

2012 IEEE-USA Salary & Benefits Survey is Now Live

Higher-grade U.S. IEEE members are invited to complete the IEEE-USA 2012 Salary Survey by 8 May 2012 to receive 5 complimentary uses of the popular salary calculator. The 2012 IEEE-USA Salary Calculator will be updated with the latest data by the end of August. Respondents will be notified in August with instructions on how to gain access to the Salary Calculator. Meanwhile, please feel free to respond to the 2012 IEEE-USA Salary & Benefits Survey.

The Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) elected two new officers who will start their terms on 1 January 2013.

Speech and Language Technical Committee (SLTC) is part of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, aiming to promote and influence technical areas related to speech and language processing and (speech-to-speech) machine translation.

In this issue of the SAM newsletter, we report on recent awards related to our field and give an outlook on SAM 2012.
