Elect New Members and Vice-Chair for MMSP TC

The Multimedia Signal Processing (MMSP) Technical Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society is soliciting nominations or self-nominations of Vice Chair and new members. The deadline is October 22, 2016. Please contact Jie Liang (jiel@sfu.ca) to obtain the nomination forms.

Nomination of new TC members:

- Elected TC members will serve a 3-year term from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019.

In this series, we aim to introduce senior society members and other experts of the signal processing field. This month, we are happy to introduce Prof. Vincenzo Matta from the Department of Information and Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics of the University of Salerno, Italy.

The Fellow Reference Committee is seeking nominations for five new members of the 2017 Fellow Reference Committee. The term of appointment is three years, non-renewable (1 January 2017-31 December 2019). The position is responsible for evaluating nominations for IEEE Fellow that are referred for review by the IEEE Fellow Committee. Candidates must hold the grade of IEEE Fellow and must be an SPS Member.

Please visit the Conferences and Events page on the IEEE Signal Processing Society website for upcoming Lectures by Distinguished Lecturers.

The fourth IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP) will be held in Greater Washington, DC, USA on December 7–9, 2016. The conference features world-class plenary and keynote talks, tutorials and government panel discussions, as well as co-located timely symposia selected based on the responses to the Call for Symposium Proposals.

To submit job announcements for a particular Technical Committee, the submission form can be found by visiting the page below and selecting a particular TC. Visit the SPS Job Submission Form.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is honored to announce the elevation of 18 of its members to the grade of IEEE Senior Member. These members have demonstrated outstanding professional performance, exhibited professional maturity through long-term experience, and established themselves as leaders in their respective IEEE-designated fields of interest. Senior Member is the only membership grade that is eligible to be nominated for IEEE Fellow. The new Senior Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society are:
