vTools.Voting and Other Free Electronic Tools

Are you planning for your Section, Chapter, or Affinity Group election? The vTools.Voting tool is ready to support your election.

Use your IEEE Web Account ID and password to sign in. A tutorial is also available. Elections typically have twice the participation when conducted electronically.

The vTools portfolio also offers other popular tools:

  • vTools.Meetings is a tool for scheduling and managing Section, Chapter, and Affinity Group meetings and meeting report submission. Officers can create meeting announcements with no dependence on webmaster availability and show the meetings on their Web page and in myIEEE. Members and the public can learn about and register for the upcoming meetings. Functionality includes registration (with or without credit card payment), L31 submission and search, and various RSS feeds.
  • vTools.WebInABox  http://webinabox.vtools.ieee.org/ is available now. This wizard like tool assists officers in generating simple Web sites in an automated fashion with no dependence on webmaster availability. The tool automatically updates Web pages based on the latest information from the IEEE central data source (current officers’ contact information, meetings from the Meetings tool, etc.). Functionality also includes auto expiring announcements with RSS feeds. WebInABox can generate sites for Sections, Subsections, Chapters, and Affinity Groups. Its look and feel is designed to be in compliance with IEEE web presence guidelines.  Further information and instructions are available http://wiki.vtools.ieee.org/bin/view/WebInABox/WebHome .
  • Dim Dim is a Web Conferencing service offered to geographic organizational units for online meetings, webinars, training, demos, and presentations.

Please e-mail questions to the vTools team at vtools@ieee.org.
