July 2013

The Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee for each Technical Committee is currently seeking nominations for new Members, as well as the Vice Chair position for some Technical Committees. Nominations for both positions should be submitted directly to each Technical Committee’s Nominations and Appointments Subcommittee.

Your vote is important! Ballots must be received at IEEE no later than 30 August 2013 in order to be counted.

The Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) elected two new officers who will start their terms on 1 January 2014:

Rabab K. Ward (University of British Columbia) will serve as 2014-2015 SPS President-Elect. She succeeds Alex Acero (Microsoft) who has held the post of President-Elect and will become President in 2014.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) appointed José M. F. Moura (Carnegie Mellon University) to serve as 2014-2016 SPS Awards Board Chair. He succeeds John Treichler (Raytheon Applied Signal Technology), who has held the post since January 2011.

The Signal Processing Society (SPS) has 12 technical committees that support a broad selection of signal processing related activities defined by the scope of the Society. Technical Committees are actively involved in awards, conferences, publications, and educational activities, and provide technical advice to the Society's leadership.
