IEEE Signal Processing Society Ushers in a New Era
When the IEEE Signal Processing Society was initially established as the Professional Group on Audio in 1948, signal processing as we know it didn’t exist. The founders of what would eventually become IEEE’s first society could not have foreseen the evolution of their discipline’s once-narrow scope.
Society Constitution Amendments
At its 18 May 2019 meeting, the Board of Governors of the IEEE Signal Processing Society passed amendments to the Society’s Constitution document regarding member election of the Society’s President-Elect, updating the reference to email voting instead of postal mail voting along with its associated timeframe and removing the 30-day waiting period, so amendments are effective after all required approvals are received.
New Society Editor-in-Chief Named for 2020
The Executive Committee of the IEEE Signal Processing Society appointed a new Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Signal Processing Letters who will start her term on 1 January 2020.
IEEE International Workshop on Machine Learning for Signal Processing
The 29th MLSP workshop in the series of workshops organized by the IEEE Signal Processing Society MLSP Technical Committee will present the most recent and exciting advances in machine learning for signal processing through keynote talks, tutorials, as well as special and regular single-track sessions.
