Deadline May 30, 2011: Call for Proposals to Host IEEE WIFS 2012

The Technical Committee on Information Forensics and Security (IFS-TC) of the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) is inviting proposals for the fourth offering of its flagship workshop (WIFS 2012), to be held in Fall 2012. The proposal should target a minimum audience of 130-160 attendees.

Interested groups and individuals are strongly encouraged to approach the members of the IEEE IFS-TC WIFS subcommittee to openly discuss and improve their proposals. The IFS-TC will select the winning proposal by secret ballot. IFS-TC members involved in proposals are ineligible to vote for a proposal. The proposals should be complete and detailed. A complete proposal will note the date and location of the meeting, a tentative venue, an organizing committee, a promotion plan (which may include plans for co-sponsorships by other IEEE Societies and Councils, or other professional organizations), a strategy for reviewing of submissions including key dates, a publication plan (which must include adoption of the proceedings in IEEE Xplore), a plan for accommodations at one or more hotels, and a provisional budget. The IEEE IFS-TC controls the technical content of the workshop and will require adherence to TC requirements with respect to technical content and the review process.

There is currently no rotation policy being strictly enforced. This being said, the IFS-TC will work to provide diversity in location (at least the continent) and organizing committee (at least the main chairs) while maintaining the high quality of the workshop. Full proposals must be sent by email no later than Monday, May 30^th 2011 to the Chair of the IEEE IFS-TC WIFS sub-committee. The selected proposal will be announced in November 2011 during the social event of IEEE WIFS 2011 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. Call for papers will be distributed during the event and the workshop website should be up and running at the time.
