IEEE Offers Discounts for Online Courses to IEEE Members
The IEEE eLearning Library, recently launched for organizational subscriptions, now also provides technical professionals and students with access to individual, fee-based short courses and conference workshops. Members of IEEE receive a further benefit of a members-only discount.
The IEEE eLearning Library is composed of over 200 short, online courses in many of today's core and emerging technologies from smart grid and biometrics to telecommunications and green engineering. Each course was developed and peer-reviewed by industry experts and provides continuing education units (CEU) or professional development hours (PDH) upon successful completion. IEEE eLearning Library is delivered via the IEEE Learning Management System (LMS). Those who enroll for a course can choose between introductory, intermediate and advanced levels of learning. The IEEE LMS can keep track of courses and progress. Courses range from one to three hours in length and include notes, a glossary of terms and a post-test. Once each course is complete, members are able to print their continuing education certificates. The course catalog and the LMS can be accessed at http://www.ieee-elearning.org. IEEE is a certified continuing education provider.
