Our SPS member Sadaoki Furui received the 63rd NHK (Nippon Hoso Kyokai: Japan Broadcasting Corporation) Broadcast Cultural Award .

IEEE will soon be releasing the new IEEE business platform, also known as IBP. The new platform includes new web applications, a new user interface, and a new version of SAMIEEE.

Nominate an IEEE Senior Member or IEEE Life Senior Member as an IEEE Fellow by 1 March 2012.

The following SPS members will receive 2012 IEEE awards.

Clifford Carter has been selected as the IEEE Jack S. Kilby Signal Processing Medal recipient “for contributions to the fundamentals of coherence and time-delay estimation and to underwater acoustics signal processing.”
The IEEE James L. Flanagan Speech and Audio Processing Technical Field Award will be presented to James Baker (Carnegie Mellon University) and Janet Baker (Saras Institute) “for fundamental contributions to the theory and practice of automatic speech recognition.”

 

Please provide nominations for Regional Director-at-Large and Member-at-Large. Nominations must be received no later than 1 March 2012.
