News and Resources for Members of the IEEE Signal Processing Society
Min Wu
SPS Vice President – Finance
A warm greeting from the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and sincere wishes for a prosperous new year!
Have you renewed your membership? If not yet, act today! Starting in 2012, the Society is offering the lowest-ever annual membership for $20. This e-membership package includes the FREE electronic delivery of the Society's flagship publication -- IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, FREE monthly subscription to the Inside Signal Processing eNewsletter, and FREE monthly issues of the electronic Content Gazette – a publication catalog containing the table of contents for all the Society journals and a hot link to the IEEE Xplore for each article.
For members who prefer also to receive print versions of the Magazine and the Content Gazette, an enhanced membership option is available for $15 more (i.e. $35 total). The enhanced package includes additional benefit of FREE electronic access to ALL seven SPS solely owned publications through the IEEE Xplore. Student members pay only half of these rates.
All members receive substantial discounts on registration fees for the Society’s solely owned conferences and workshops, and reduced, member pricing for print subscriptions of SPS journals. A new member-only benefit is the SPS Conference Travel Grant assistance to attend ICASSP and ICIP as authors; about 80 grants were awarded in 2011 alone. Members can enjoy the opportunity to network with other signal processing colleagues and leaders in their fields, through SPS sponsored conferences and workshops, regional chapter and technical committee meetings; and have volunteer and leadership opportunities through Society sponsored activities. More information about the membership benefits can be found at this link.
Members in developing countries can also take advantage of the new IEEE eMembership for a substantially reduced IEEE due (about 1/3 to 1/2 of the ordinary fee).
Members needing special assistance may also check out the respective IEEE offers. If you encourage a colleague to become an IEEE member, you may be rewarded through IEEE's "member-get-a-member" program.
Come to renew your IEEE and SPS memberships. And encourage your signal processing colleagues to join.
