The IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS), the IEEE's first society, is the world’s premier professional society for signal processing scientist and professionals since 1948. As stated in the SPS Welcome page, SPS serves its members through high quality publications, conference, technical and educational activities, and leadership opportunities.
The society is glad to report that our IEEE SPS journals are highly ranked in the latest journal citation report. More specifically, the IEEE SPS publishes the number one journal in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, "IEEE Signal Processing Magazine", according to the 2010 Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Report. IEEE SPS journals across several technology areas also earned high rankings. Among the total 247 journals in the area of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, 5 SPS journals are ranked in the top 21.
